We promise you've never had a boarding experience like you'll have at True North. From the moment you walk in the door, we will make you and your horse feel welcome and part of our community. We have some unique philosophies at True North that are designed to give you and your horse exceptional care and an optimal experience.
Boarding With Us...
We are not a huge barn. We keep our numbers small so you and your horse get incredible service and tailored care.
We are a full-care boarding facility only. Our board rate is $875 per month. All horses are required to be in an active training program.
As of right now we have a waiting list. If you would like to be added to the list, please contact us and arrange a tour of our facility and a discussion of you and your horses's needs.
We welcome you to haul your horse in for lessons!
Our Care Philosophy
We believe that each horse is a unique individual, and deserves to be treated with respect and care. Your horse is a living, breathing, creature, with his or her own feelings, thoughts, and wishes. We do our best to honor that every day.
We believe that every horse and rider are in a relationship together, and that the deeper the understanding of the relationship, the better the performance of both horse and rider. Your horse is not simply a vehicle to get you from point A to point B and we hope that your time here helps facilitate that relationship.
We believe that your horse is an enormous part of your life, and that your relationship should be full of fun, enjoyment and satisfaction.
We believe your horse deserves respect from every person who interacts with him/her. We have a staff of awesome people who have tons of experience working with horses, and who range in expertise from rehabilitation specialists to riding experts. They will love your horse and care for your horse as much as you do!
Turnout Philosophy
We believe that horses thrive in their own natural environment. Our horses have ample amounts of turnout time where they have access to run-in shelters, clean water, and free choice hay. Our barn experiences low turnover, so your horse will be part of a stable herd that often stays together for years!
We believe time spent outside makes your horse stronger, more athletic, and less prone to injury. When horses are turned out for the majority of their day, they develop better muscle tone, utilize their bodies more effectively, and build lots of endurance!
Turnout is one of the single most important components to your horses mental and physical well-being. We do not offer individual paddock style turnout. Our herds are kept small (2 - 3 horses).
Feeding Philosophy
We believe that horses are meant to eat and graze freely. We have large fields with lush green grass. We also believe the quality of what your horse is eating matters. We buy and serve premium hay and grain to our horses, we keep our fields fertilized, seeded, and focus on pasture management for lush, nutrient-dense grass. We are actively engaged with an equine nutritionist to ensure each horse gets the right nutrition program.
